A Miami-based developer has filed plans to build a new 20-story high-rise data center in Kansas City.
Revitalization Unlimited is seeking to build a new data center located at 304 W. 10th St. The 140,880-square-foot tower would stand 384 feet tall. The majority of the building’s space would be allocated to data center operations.
Distributed across multiple floors, the data center would incorporate dedicated fuel cells, IT racks, substations and other electrical equipment.
Additionally, a 4,140-square-foot coffee shop would be built on the first floor with outdoor seating facing W 10th St.

An existing building is located at the development site. The project would demolish the Western Newspaper Union Building to make room for the new tower. The Western Newspaper Union Building was erected in 1900 and has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places since 2007.
Located nearly a mile away from the proposed development site is the former Kansas City Star printing press building, which was purchased by Patmos with plans to repurpose the building into a new flagship data center.
Headquartered in Miami, Revitalization Unlimited is a real estate investment fund. The company announced its plans to restore the Garment House, located at 1000 Broadway Blvd., in January.
The City Plan Commission is scheduled to review the development plan during a public meeting on Aug. 5.
