The De Soto Planning Commission has approved plans for an 11-townhome building development north of Panasonic’s electric-vehicle battery plant.

Commission members voted to approve the site plan for the development during their Tuesday meeting. The project would be part of Flint Meadows East, a development led by Prairie Village-based commercial real estate firm Flint Development.

Flint Meadows East is located at 36520 W. 103rd St. The site is a residential mix of apartments, attached units, and single-family homes featuring 426 multi-family units and 167 single-family units.

The Panasonic EV battery plant is located across the street from 103rd Street at Astra Enterprise Park.

The site plan consists of 11 two-story townhome buildings with 42 total units. The buildings would feature six 5-plex, two 3-plex and three 2-plex dwelling units. The units will include 3-4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a two-car garage.
