Data Analysis; Average Student Debt For KS, MO



A data analysis from Degree Choices has found the states with the highest average debt for students by state.

Degree Choices released a ranking based on data from the Office of Federal Student Aid to find the colleges and universities with the most student debt. How do Kansas and Missouri fair against the state with the lead in average student debt, Maryland?

Maryland has the highest student debt per borrower, at an average of $43,116, followed by Georgia, Virginia, Florida and South Carolina, according to Degree Choices.

Missouri, however, comes in lower on the list with an average debt per borrower of $35,537. The state also has nearly 845 borrowers with a total of all student debt around $30 billion.

The Kansas average debt per borrower comes in below its neighbor Missouri at $33,128. Kansas has nearly 390,000 total borrowers with a total student debt of $12.9 billion.
