Kansas City-based investment holding company CPC, LLC announced it has acquired Drug Free Sport International, a drug testing company also in Kansas City.

Founded in 1999, Drug Free Sport International (DFSI) provides anti-doping solutions and health education for athletes. In September 2018, the DFSI merged with International Doping Tests & Management (IDTM), out of Stockholm, Sweden to form the largest third-party sport anti-doping administrator in the world.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with CPC’s approach to our partnership and what the future holds for the Company,” CEO of DFSI Chris Guinty said in a release. “CPC engages a beneficial long-term hold strategy with its portfolio companies that fosters sustainable success and places an emphasis on human capital. This focus is particularly important as we continue prioritizing top service for our clients and their stakeholders.”

This acquisition was made alongside DFSI’s current management team. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“CPC strives to partner with world class people to build exceptional places to work,” CPC principal and co-founder Wiley Curran said in the release. “Chris and his team are a prime example of world class, and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to continue their mission and vision alongside the Drug Free Sport management team.”

CPC has had a string of acquisitions last year. In August, CPC announced that it acquired Trades Holding Company, LLC, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, later accompanied by an add-on acquisition of Mr. Rooter of Mid-Ohio in October.
