Coping with Covid: State, regional coronavirus cases update



State health departments in Kansas and Missouri provide an update in new statewide cases Friday, new data showing that Johnson County continues to have the most confirmed cases in Kansas and in the Kansas City region.

A Friday update from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment reports the state now has 56,592 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 632 deaths since the beginning of the outbreak.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported on Thursday that there has been a total of 118,311 confirmed cases and 1,952 deaths.

In Kansas, demographics on the average median age of the deaths sits at 79, similar to Wednesday’s report.

Johnson County continues to have the most confirmed cases in Kansas with 10,997. The county has the most confirmed cases in the Kansas City region as well.
