Coping with COVID: Operation Safe encourages eligible KCMO residents to apply for Tier 3 vaccine



The Clay County-based coalition formed to assist with area vaccinations is prompting Kansas City, Mo. residents to apply for the COVID-19 vaccine. Operation Safe has emphasized those who are eligible for upcoming Phase 1B, Tier 3 of vaccinations should apply through its website.

Officials advocating with Operation Safe are urging Missouri residents in the Kansas City metro to apply to get vaccinated at their mass inoculation site.

Clay County officials are especially asking those who are considered Phase 1B, Tier 3 residents, to sign up through the Operation Safe Interest Form.

Operation Safe was formed to vaccinate residents in the area and is composed of a Clay County entities such as the Clay County Public Health Center, North Kansas City Hospital, the City of Liberty and several others.

Representatives say those included in Tier 3 that have already registered but have not been contacted for an appointment should fill out the form again.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson announced the state would move to Tier 3 on March 15. He said this will make about 550,000 more Missourians eligible for vaccinated.
