Cerner’s south Kansas City campus nears completion

Two towers being built as part of Cerner’s Innovations Campus are entering the final phases of construction, which will add over 700,000 square feet.

A large Cerner project which began in March 2018, the south Kansas City Innovations Campus will soon open two towers that have been built to add 775,000 square feet in office space.

The added square footage is said to provide enough space for 3,000 employees.

Now entering phases three and four of construction, the few steps left before their opening include site work and final furniture arrangements, Tony Rohr, the project’s architect with Gould Evans, said.

“The buildings were designed with a fair amount of flexibility so that they could stretch in terms of how many people they have,” Rohr said.

Combined, the project of the two towers total around $220 million.

Final build-out for Innovations Campus is expected to be complete in 2025 and by that time support 16,000 employees.
