Cerner Conference to Bring 11,000 Downtown



Cerner Corp. says it will bring more than 11,000 health-care industry leaders, providers and employees together in Kansas City next month for its 29th annual Cerner Health Conference. All told, the company says, clients, partners and associates from more than 25 countries will be represented at when the conference runs from Nov. 2-5 at the Kansas City Convention Center.

More than half of those attending will be coming from out of town, generating about $7.2 million in economic activity for the area economy. The massive production will entail more than 240 health-informatics education sessions and more than 400 speakers. Among the topics the company listed as discussion items are population health, quality outcomes, interoperability, clinical and financial integration, care transitions and clinical mobility.

That long lineup of speakers includes experts on consumerism in health care, leveraging technology to improve the patient experience, medical links between employee engagement and community health, new tools and technology, new models of care, and the population-wide health benefits of electronic patient record systems.
