Burns & McDonnell Expands Footprint in San Antonio

Burns & McDonnell is expanding its presence in the San Antonio, Texas area with the opening of its new office.

The Kansas City-based contractor’s new San Antonio Office, located at 45 NE Loop 410, Suite 420, will help to meet the demand for critical infrastructure solutions in central and South Texas, according to a release.

“This community is growing fast and facing increasingly complex infrastructure needs,” vice president and branch office manager for San Antonio operations, Jake Merriman, said in the release. “Our local team is ready to help solve these challenges by bringing deep technical knowledge and experience, and a commitment to partnership that defines our approach.”

The new office establishment is building on the company’s commitment to the area. In February, Burns & McDonnell opened its Construction Academy in Houston, Texas. The academy’s 14,000-square-foot campus will help train the next generation of skilled construction workers. The facility will specialise in training for laborers, pipefitters, substation electricians, carpenters, equipment operators, welders, ironworkers and riggers.

Founded in 1898, Burns & McDonnell is fully employee-owned and now operates more than 75 offices globally.

Burns & McDonnell ranked No. 2 for Top Area General Contractors in the Ingram’s Power Book 2025 edition. With over 14,500 employees, 5,200 found locally, the firm generated $3.74 billion in Kansas City area billings in 2023.
