Britt Reid no longer with Chiefs following contract expiration

Placed on administrative leave following his involvement in a multi-vehicle crash, Kansas City Chiefs outside linebackers coach Britt Reid is no longer employed with the Chiefs. Reid’s contract expired following the Super Bowl and he will not make a return to the team.

Kansas City Chiefs outside linebackers coach Britt Reid, son of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, is no longer employed by the Chiefs.

Britt Reid’s contract expired following the Super Bowl LV game last Sunday, although he was placed on administrative leave for his involvement in a multi-vehicle crash prior to the big game on Thursday, Feb. 4.

The crash involved three vehicles and took place on the ramp of Interstate 435 near Arrowhead Stadium. A Dodge Ram truck allegedly driven by Reid struck both vehicles, leaving a 5-year-old with sustaining life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, the Chiefs said they were in the process of gathering information on the incident and would “continue to assist local authorities as requested.”
