Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City announced its CEO, Erin Stucky, will retire by the end of 2026 and named Jenny Housley her successor.
Housley, who serves as the Blue KC Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, will succeed Stucky and has been promoted to President of Blue KC, effective immediately, according to a Wednesday release.
“This is a pivotal moment for our industry, and I look forward to building on the strong foundation that Erin has established. With the talented teams at Blue KC, we will continue our mission of providing affordable access to healthcare and improving the health of our nearly one million members,” Housley said in the release.
Stucky has served Blue KC for over 30 years, including more than six years as CEO. She was recognized in Ingram’s 250: The Most Powerful Business Leaders in Greater Kansas City in 2019. Stucky took over Blue KC as CEO when she succeeded Danette Wilson.
The Blue KC Board of Directors selected Housley as Stucky’s successor following a selection process. Stucky and Housley will work together over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.
Housley joined the Blue KC leadership team in 2016 after serving 21 years in senior leadership roles at Lockton Companies Inc. At Blue KC, she has managed sales, labor unions, corporate strategy, customer experience, marketing, product development and underwriting. She was featured in Ingram’s WeKC top female executives in Kansas City in 2019.
“Our Board and I are excited for Jenny to step into this role. We have full faith in her abilities and are confident that her leadership will continue to drive our mission forward as the healthcare industry continues to evolve,” Stucky said in the release. “Blue KC is in excellent hands.”
