Block & Company acquires former Best Buy building in KCK



Located in the Plaza at the Speedway shopping center in Kansas City, Kan., the currently vacant 46,538 square-foot Best Buy building has been bought by Block, who will now be handling the leasing and management of the space.

On Wednesday, Block & Company, Inc., Realtors announced their new ownership of the former Best Buy located in the Plaza at the Speedway shopping center at 10500 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kan.

The building makes up 46,538 square-feet and is a freestanding building that sits on 4.22 acres in the 850,000 square-foot shopping center, reports Block & Company.

Surrounding the location nearby is a Walmart Supercenter, Kohl’s and Sam’s Club. Other tenants include Taco Bell, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Chick-fil-A, Jack in the Box, Wendy’s, St. Luke’s Community Hospital and more.

David M. Block (president), Alex Block (sales) and Max Kosoglad (vice president) of Block & Company represented the buying entity in this transaction. The firm will be handling the leasing and management of the building, which can be leased or divided, Block & Company said.

David M. Block previously headed the shopping center investment group that initially developed the Plaza at the Speedway, which included the build-to-suit for this Best Buy building, Block & Company said. He was also involved in the brokerage for the sale of the Best Buy to the sellers in this transaction. David Hickman of CBRE, represented the sellers in this transaction.
