Best value and return on investment colleges give Missouri S&T high rank

The STEM-focused research university has been given a high rank by two separate organizations, marking the college at No. 1 in Missouri for both best value in the state and return on investment.

A ranking of colleges in the state and nationwide reveal that Missouri is home to one university that delivers value to its students going into the workforce.

Missouri S&T, a STEM-focused research university located in the southern half of Missouri, has ranked No. 1 by two separate organizations measuring up colleges in two different categories.

A measure of best value colleges in the state of Missouri by financial planning website Smart Asset ranks Missouri S&T at No.1.

Smart Asset’s analysis involved a look at five factors for best value including student living expenses, tuition, scholarships and grants awarded, retention rate and starting salaries for new graduates.

The other No. 1 ranking received by Missouri S&T was given by Business Insider, giving it the top ranking in the state of Missouri – and No. 8 in the nation – for return on investment.

Business Insider used data from the U.S. Department of Education to make the determination, measuring post-grad salaries and tuition figures which indicated that Missouri S&T has an 80.9% return on investment.
