Arrowhead Stadium to have reduced capacity of 22% for 2020 season

Fall season plans have been finalized by the Kansas City Chiefs for fans attending games, the revisions made due to new guidelines established by the NFL.

The Kansas City Chiefs have finalized plans at Arrowhead Stadium for fans attending games this football season.

The Chiefs have announced that they are reducing capacity to 22% this season, the change influenced by new guidelines established by the NFL.

Also involved in the decision to reduce capacity were Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, City of Kansas City Health Director Dr. Rex Archer, City of Kansas City EMS Medical Director Dr. Erica Carney and the University of Kansas Health System.

In working with the University of Kansas Health System, the Kansas City Chiefs released a set of health safety protocols for attending fans which includes a completely cashless system, physical distancing measures in seats, in lines and high-traffic areas of the stadium.

Tailgating will be allowed in the parking lot at Arrowhead Stadium, the Kansas City Chiefs said, though there will also be guidelines that fans will be expected to follow.

The 2020 season will look quite different for those attending games, the new capacity percentage equating to roughly 17,000 of the normal 76,000 that Arrowhead holds.
