Renderings from architect David Manica released on Wednesday, giving Kansas lawmakers a glimpse of what a new Chiefs stadium could look like in Kansas City, Kansas.

The proposed stadium would be located at I-435 and I-70 across from the Legends Outlets. The design features a state-of-the-art enclosed stadium, outdoor amphitheater, mixed-use development, a new modern training facility and parking for tailgating experiences, according to Kansas City, Kansas-based architecture firm Manica.

“The design offers Kansas City the potential for an incredible new home for the Chiefs – and a modern stadium that brings Kansas City new opportunities to host a Super Bowl, NCAA Final Fours Championships, and a wider variety of concerts and family shows than ever before,” Manica said.

The renderings—and a video showcasing the proposed development—were released following Kansas lawmakers’ efforts to approve a new STAR bond legislation. The bond would help attract the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals to Kansas as well as generate sales tax from the development.

If passed, the bond would give the Kansas Department of Commerce room to negotiate with either professional team to move over the state line.

Manica’s previous work on professional sports stadia includes Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nissan Stadium in Tennessee and the renovated Progressive Field in Cleveland.

The Kansas City Chiefs have not yet commented on the renderings.
