Ace Retail Group has named longtime veteran of the company, Robert Massengill, as its new president.

Massengill has been with Ace for over 20 years. As president, Massengill will lead enterprise-wide strategy, operations, and growth across Ace Retail Group’s multi-state retail hardware platform, according to a release shared with Ingram’s.

Before his promotion to president, Massengill served as the senior vice president of business development and general counsel at Westlake Ace Hardware for over 11.5 years. During his time at Westlake, his other roles included senior director, corporate counsel, secretary and staff attorney, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“Our future is bright. We’ll grow intentionally, adding stores where we can make a real local
impact, reinvesting in existing locations to create modern, relevant and engaging shopping experiences, and sharpening our focus on speed so we can get the right products to customers faster. The strategy is sound, but it’s our people who will bring it to life. We have some of the best in the business, and that’s our greatest competitive advantage,” Massengill said in the release.

Massengill holds a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Ace Retail Group is a wholly-owned division of Ace Hardware Corporation and is headquartered in Overland Park. The division owns more than 260 hardware stores in 18 states.
