For 50 years, the legendary Connie Mack owned and managed the Philadelphia A’s. Once one of the most venerable teams in baseball, the A’s were in a tailspin by 1954. Before the team moved to Kansas City, a real-life soap opera played out complete with a sickbed betrayal, a conspiracy between business titans in New York and Chicago, and the creation of an unprecedented coalition of business and government leaders in Kansas City. Join “Archiver” host and KCUR metro reporter, Sam Zeff, for a podcast listening event and discussion of the A’s and Kansas City baseball history.
