The Slice of Agriculture program incorporates into the curriculum and learning experiences for fourth-graders:

  • agriculture
  • conservation
  • environment
  • safety
  • health and
  • nutrition

A highlight of the program is an entertaining field trip that makes the experience of learning about the industry of agriculture inviting, fun and educational. Because a fourth-grader’s favorite food is probably pizza, the Slice of Agriculture field trip uses the ingredients of a pizza as the basis for learning about where their food comes from. It will take place at the Overland Park Convention Center from Jan. 8 at 8 a.m. to Jan. 9 at 4 p.m.
