Let’s go up the Mississippi and across the Missouri River to a land that your pa says will make a fine place to settle. Let oral historian Jim “Two Crows” Wallen lead you through artifacts, stories, and authentic clothing into the land that will become the 24th state of the United States. Along the way you’ll learn how Missouri and Kansas City were named, and hear tales about Native Americans and early pioneer settlements of the region. The event will be on Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. at the Midwest Genealogy Center.
