The Hawthorne Foundation will hold the Kit Bond Citizen Leadership Award Dinner in what will be the newly opened Loews Kansas City Hotel, at 1515 Wyandotte St., in Downtown Kansas City, on April 7.

Former Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes is the featured speaker, and the UMKC Jazz Ensemble and UMKC Conservatory Singers will provide musical entertainment.

The reception starts at 6 p.m., and dinner begins at 7 p.m.
