BEING KIND CAN GO A LONG WAY. But many times, it’s not recognized as it should be. Now in its 29th year, the Kindest Kansas Citian was created to do just that. It’s not only Synergy Services’ longest running event, it’s also the biggest with over 400 attendees. As part of the event, we also recognize 20 Kindest Kansas Citians nominated by students, ranging from kindergartners to seniors in high school. Out of the 5,000 essays submitted, volunteers read through each and every one, narrowing it down to 20 finalists. Then at the event, these 20 students read a small part of their essay about their “Kindest Kansas Citian.” You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and you’ll help spread kindness in our community by funding our STOP Violence program, which provides anti-bullying programming in Kansas City metro area schools.
