Going the Distance for Brain Injury Memorial Day Run, May 28, 2018. Formerly the Amy Thompson Run for Brain injury, this year’s run calls attention to the more than 21,000 individuals In Kansas and Greater Kansas City area who are affected by a brain injury every year.

New this year, the race will feature a 10K. Other race categories include a 5K, 1.5 mile Walk for Thought and fun4kids event. Take advantage of early bird registration fees and start your summer off with a bang.

Since 1988, the Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City (BIAKS) has sponsored a family-friendly Memorial Day Run, which has raised funds for community education and to help provide programming for those affected by a traumatic brain injury. Whether it’s as simple as a donation, volunteering or participating in the run, Going the Distance for Brain Injurt needs and charishes your continued support.

The Amy Thompson Run for Brain Injury began in 1987 with few hundred participants. Last year, the 30th year, the ATR garnered close to 2000 participants. The run continues this year with a new name, but the same objective– promoting brain injury awareness and prevention.
