Join us for this dynamic three-day, hands-on workshop that is designed for those interested in learning more about communication training as a tool for human resource development in organizations. The knowledge gained from this workshop can be useful in the preparation and implementation of communication workshops, seminars, and training programs for professional development. In addition to instructional design, the workshop focuses on methods of teaching communication skills to adult learners, as well as instruction and practice in conducting experiential activities. Methods of assessing learning outcomes and evaluation of training programs are also covered.

What to expect to learn and do:

*Compare and contrast training with education, development, and consulting;

*Identify key characteristics of adult learning;

*Describe the steps involved in producing communication training programs

*Conduct a needs analysis;

*Write clear, well-worded learning objectives;

*Identify advantages and disadvantages of various training methods;

*Use visual aids appropriately to enhance training;

*Produce a trainer guide for two contact hours of communication training;

*Understand and practice methods for managing and reducing conflict in the training classroom;

*Identify advantages and disadvantages of various types of assessment instruments;

*Model appropriate training techniques in a training presentation.
