The 11th Annual Carnival for CASA is a fundraiser for Jackson County CASA and will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 10 at Paradise Park, 1021 Northeast Colbern Road, in Lee’s Summit, Mo. The event will help Jackson County CASA serve more than 1,200 abused and neglected children who are under court protection.

Admission includes lunch, unlimited access to Paradise Park’s fixed attractions such as the foam factory, bumper cars, go-karts, miniature golf, laser tag, rock wall and activities exclusive to the carnival.

Some of the special activities that can be enjoyed include children’s entertainer The Jack Snaps, a Lego Station, a hamster ball from Yes! Kids Fitness,  face painters, hair designers, balloon artists, pony rides, bounce houses, Home Depot Workshops, a photo booth, K.C. Royals’ mascot Sluggerrr, Sporting KC Blue Mascot,  popcorn, cotton candy, goody bags, and much more.

Carnival admission is $25 per child in advance and $30 on the day of the event. Children under 2 are free. Non-participant adult tickets are $10 and include lunch and access to accompany a child on all carnival activities. Participating adult tickets, which include lunch and unlimited participation in all activities, are the same price as children’s tickets. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.jacksoncountycasa-mo.org or by calling 816-984-8217.

Opportunities also are available to sponsor attendance of the abused and neglected children served by Jackson County CASA. While it’s difficult for most of us to imagine, many of those children say their day at Carnival for CASA is the single best day of their lives. “It’s hard to imagine that such a simple opportunity can bring this much joy to children living with trauma,” says Jackson County CASA Executive Director Martha Gershun. “It is a delight to be able to share this wonderful day with the abused and neglected children CASA represents.”
