2017 Asian Cultual Festival

The annual festival’s goal is to promote Asian cultures, cultivate U.S.-Asia friendships and provide business opportunities for businesses that offer their products and services to individuals and families in the metro Kansas City area, according to Carol Wei. More than 21 Kansas City area Asian country associations have partnered with MAACA to produce this event.

MAACA will present Ian Grillot the America Hero Award for his heroism in the recent Olathe, Kansas bar shooting incident. An award will also be given to Kansas Lieutenant Governor, Governor Jeff Colyer. Speaking at the festival will be Chinese Consul General, Hong Lei, Mayor of Olathe,Michael Copeland, Mayor of overland park  Carl and Japan Honor Consul General, Jim Kanki.

The 2017 Asian Cultural Festival will feature Asian culture performances by Kansas City area Asian dancers, singers, and musicians in their native costumes, and a variety of Asian martial arts demonstrations and interactive martial arts sessions. The festival includes a dining area with Asian cuisine and booths offering Asian jewelry, clothing, and beauty items. The information area will offer details on Visa or passport assistance and adoption resources for the KC Metro Area and much more.
