YRC Worldwide Inc. has changed its name to Yellow Corporation, effective this week.
The Overland Park-based trucking company is now trading under the Nasdaq ticker “YELL,” according to a recent Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
This is not the first name change for the company, which had originally gone by Yellow Freight before taking on the name YRC Worldwide.
“As we continue our transformation into a super-regional, LTL freight carrier, it is the right time to reintroduce the Yellow Corporation name and modernize the holding company brand,” Yellow Corp. CEO Darren Hawkins said in the filing.
“Once we announced our plans to rebrand, our customers and employees shared their excitement. The Yellow brand is synonymous with the LTL industry and we are honored to continue its proud legacy of service with one of the largest, most comprehensive logistics and LTL networks in North America,” Hawkins said.
Along with establishing its new name, the company released its results for Q4 2020 and the full year.
During Q4, Yellow Corp. reported a loss of $18.7 million, or 37 cents a share. Its losses during the last quarter topped that of the same quarter in 2019, which had a loss of $15.3 million, or 46 cents a share.
By the end of 2020, the company reported a loss of $53.5 million, or $1.28 a share. This was an improvement from 2019’s loss of $104 million, or $3.13 a share.
