Yellow Corporation continues hiring spree going into Q2



After hiring roughly 2,000 more employees in Q1, the Kansas City area company announced it will continue its hiring surge. Yellow Corp. said it plans to fill another 2,000 positions across 275 locations. Major hiring locations include Kansas City and 11 other cities.

Formerly known as YRC Worldwide Inc., Kansas City area company Yellow Corp. is hiring thousands of new employees nationwide which are expected to stretch into July.

The company, which added nearly 2,000 drivers and dock workers in the first quarter, currently is hiring at more than 275 different locations and plans to fill more than 2,000 driver positions, according to a company spokeswoman.

“Hiring is our No. 1 priority,” Yellow CEO Darren Hawkins said in a news release. “Our freight professionals serve as the economic lifeline to nearly every community in America. Transportation and trucking people are patriots.”

Major locations that are hiring include: Kansas City; Atlanta; Bloomington, California; Chicago; Columbus, Ohio; Denver; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Indianapolis; Irving, Texas; Maybrook, New York; and Portland, Oregon.

Locally, Yellow has more than 50 openings at its Overland Park headquarters, including positions in IT, finance, HR/payroll, engineering, inside sales and logistics. It also has two terminals in the Kansas City area, where it is seeking to fill positions.
