White House Rolls Out Three-Phase Reopening Plan

President Donald Trump has released a three-phase advisory plan for states to reopen the country.

For states to start reopening, the policy says, there needs to beĀ  downward trajectory of COVID-19 cases over a 14-day period, the ability for hospitals to treat patients without crisis care and having a robust testing program in place, among other criteria.

The plan’s advice for employers is to continue to encourage teleworking, and if businesses do open, they open in phases, with common areas closed, regular temperature checks if appropriate in the locale and minimize work travel according to CDC guidelines.

The first phase would be much like the current stay-at-home orders many states are experiencing, while the second would allow for some businesses to open with strict social distancing restrictions. Phase three would be a return to a certain degree of normalcy, with large venues able to to reopen, but still with physical-distancing restrictions.
