North Kansas City-based Wagner Logistics announced its latest acquisition of Fulcrum Logistics, Inc., a warehousing services firm that specializes in food and beverage storage.
The deal with Fulcrum will allow Wagner to expand its services in the food and beverage sector, having four locations established in Portland, while also increasing its activity on the East Coast and Pacific Ocean.
“Acquiring Fulcrum Logistics marks a key milestone in Wagner’s growth plans as we expand the critical vertical of food and beverage,β CEO of Wagner Logistics, Brian Smith said in a release. βIt is consistent with our company’s strategy to become a top-tier player in U.S. supply chain management.β
Following the transaction’s closing, Fulcrum will operate as a division of Wagner Logistics, according to the company.
Details regarding the acquisition were not disclosed.
In Jan. 2023, Wagner entered into the Portland market with the addition of its own 82,556-square-foot distribution center with an initiative of sharing facilities, personnel and equipment across its 24 markets.
Wagner was founded in 1946 and employs more than 550 workers across cities including Kansas City.
