Visit KC Selects Brett Oetting as Chief Operating Officer

Brett Oetting will become Visit KC's first chief operating officer, effective November 11, 2024.

Kansas City tourism organization has expanded its leadership roster and found its first-ever chief operating officer.

Visit KC announced it appointed Brett Oetting as COO, effective November 11. He brings 24 years of tourism experience to the role, previously serving as Visit Corpus Christi’s CEO and Visit Topeka’s CEO.

“As Kansas City continues to gain international recognition, I couldn’t be more excited to return to the Midwest and help lead the Visit KC team as we build on the momentum that has ignited global passion for KC,” Oetting said in a release Tuesday.

As COO, Oetting will work with Kathy Nelson, president and CEO of Visit KC, to create new initiatives that grow the tourism and convention industry in Kansas City.
