Verimore Bank Merges with Clay County Savings Bank

Verimore Bank has officially merged with Clay County Savings Bank, expanding its footprint in Northern Missouri.

The merger between the two banks was completed on July 28. All Clay County Savings Bank locations reopened as Verimore Bank, according to a release.

The Clay Country Savings Bank Liberty and Kearney East branches will receive renovations for an enhanced customer experience, with renovations expected to be completed by late 2025.

Verimore Bank’s merger with Clay County Savings Bank makes it the second-largest branch network in Clay County. The combined bank now has over $600 million in total assets and eight branches across four Northern Missouri counties.

“This merger represents a significant milestone in our growth strategy,” President and CEO of Verimore Bank, Kristie Stuewe, said in the release. “It allows us to expand our reach in the Northland while continuing to deliver the personal, community-centered service our customers have relied on for over 90 years. We are proud to welcome the customers and employees of Clay County Savings Bank to Verimore Bank.”

Founded in 1934, Verimore Bank operates banking services in Brookfield, Verimore Bank also has branches in Liberty, Kansas City, Eagleville, Kearney, Milan and North Kansas City.
