The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City’s upcoming Planning Commission meeting could advance plans for a massive data center near Kansas Speedway.
In April, Red Wolf DCD Properties LLC filed plans with the UG for a six-building data center park near the Kansas Speedway. The project would rezone over 240 acres north of Parallel Parkway and another 306 acres south to a planned business park district.
Each building would be approximately 330,000 square feet and would consume 100 megawatts of energy annually.
The Planning Commission is meeting on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. Red Wolf, the New York-based developer, has not announced plans to seek incentives.
Update:
The Planning Commission voted 4-2 to rezone the area north and south of Parallel Parkway on Wednesday. The nearly 550 acres are located west of the Kansas Speedway. With Planning Commission approval, the planned business park district will be reviewed at the UG Full Commission meeting on Thursday, June 26.
