Tortoise Capital Advisors Selects Brett Wright as New CRO

Overland Park-based Tortoise Capital Advisors, LLC has found its new chief revenue officer.

Tortoise Capital Advisors, an investment company that primarily operates in the energy and power infrastructure sectors, announced Brett Wright as the new chief revenue officer for the company, effective Monday.

Additionally, Wright is a member of the firm’s management committee and will report to CEO Tom Florence, according to a release. As chief revenue officer, Wright will lead Tortoise Capital’s distribution efforts, including sales and marketing.

Before joining Tortoise Capital, Wright was head of distribution for AXS Investments. He also spent 12 years at Macquarie Asset Management where he held several leadership roles, most recently serving as head of the Americas client group.

In July, Tortoise Capital announced its strategic restructuring that would sell off the company’s Ecofin Advisors Limited business and private credit business. The private credit business, sold to 503 Capital Partners, LLC, was completed on July 31, 2024, and the sale of Ecofin Advisors Limited is expected to close on Sept. 30, 2024.

Tortoise Capital manages approximately $8.3 billion in assets under management as of Aug. 31, 2024, according to the release.
