These KC-Area Companies Made Forbes List of Best Employers, Two Break Top 10



Six companies in the Kansas City area have been recognized in Forbes' 2024 America’s Best Large Employers.

Forbes’ rankings for the 2024 America’s Best Large Employers resulted in six Kansas City area companies making the list with two breaking the top 10.

Olathe-based Garmin Ltd. ranked No. 2 on the full list. With around 19,000 employees the company reported more than $4.8 billion in 2022.

The University of Kansas Health System ranked No. 10. The healthcare system employs more than 15,000 people and reported a total revenue of $12.45 billion in 2022.

Kansas City-based Burns & McDonnell ranked in at the No. 201 spot. The company employs around 13,500 construction and trade workers and racked in a revenue of $3.8 billion in 2022.

Kansas City-based Hallmark reached the No. 240 spot. Hallmark has approximately 20,000 employees and $3.8 billion in revenue in 2022.

Another Kansas City-based company, H&R Block ranked in the No. 355 spot. The company has approximately 3,800 employees and has a 2022 revenue of around $3 billion.

The second Kansas City, Ks.-based company Dairy Farmers of America came in at No. 542. The company employs more than 18,000 people with $24.5 billion in 2022.

The annual rankings are produced in partnership with market research firm Statista and surveys U.S. companies with more than 5,000 employees. Survey respondents were asked to rate their employer, and if they would recommend their employer to others, according to Forbes.
