The $140M Merriam Grand Station Could Add Two Restaurant Buildings

Overland Park-based Drake Development has submitted development plans for restaurants for the Merriam Grand Station project.

The Merriam Grand Station is a 14-acre development site located near Antioch Road and Shawnee Mission Parkway next to Interstate 35 where the old Kmart building used to stand.

Drake submitted plans for two buildings with a total of three restaurant tenants. The first is a 7,063-square-foot building divided into two restaurant tenant spaces of 2,563-square-feet and
4,502-square-feet. The second building would be a 7,000-square-foot building available to one tenant.

Both buildings will have access to an outdoor common area that is under the large canopy located between the two buildings with entryways into both buildings facing north.

In June, Merriam Grand Station began development for a 505,000-square-foot apartment complex constructed by Brinkmann Constructors.
