Terracon Consultants Expands Texas Reach After Acquiring Dallas Drilling Firm

Olathe-based Terracon Consultants Inc. announced it will expand its footprint to Texas with the acquisition of Dallas-based firm Texplor of Dallas, Inc.

Texplor is a Terracon Consultants contractor focusing on innovative technology to provide their clients with better environmental and cost-efficient services. 

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

“We are confident that by joining Terracon, our clients will benefit from our continued support but now get the added benefits of increased resources in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area and throughout Texas,” Texplor president Dianna Thomason said in a release.

Texplor will now be known as Terracon and will operate throughout Texas from its Dallas location, according to the release. Terracon will support the Dallas office with its existing 26 locations in the state. Terracon operates 175 locations nationwide.

“We are pleased to welcome Texplor to our team, and allow our clients to benefit from their environmental and geotechnical drilling services, staff expertise and high-quality soil sampling equipment,” Jeff Roberts, manager of Terracon’s Texas Division, said in the release.

Terracon ranked No. 5 in Ingram’s 2023 Powerbook edition and No. 37 in Ingram’s 2023 Top Private Sector Companies. The company is employee-owned with 352 local employees with more than 5,000 nationwide.
