Olathe-based Terracon announced its acquisition of Arkansas-based Harbor Environmental, Inc., to continue expanding its services to the Southeastern region.

Effective immediately, Harbor’s 38 employees will join Terracon and the firm will continue to be headquartered locally as Harbor Environmental, A Terracon Company, according to a release Monday. Terracon assured the transition will be seamless for clients and will continue to work with the same Harbor teams.

Headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas, Harbor follows a terracon initiative to expand its services to the region. In July 2023, Terracon acquired Pollution Management Inc.—an environmental solutions company based in Little Rock—adding 37 employees to the company.

Harbor’s employees will join Terracon’s existing operations in Little Rock and Springdale, Arkansas; Springfield and Joplin, Missouri; and Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma, according to the release.

“We’re thrilled to welcome so many new team members who will complement our existing resources outside of the region, while enabling us to offer our clients an expanded array of services locally,” Terracon president and CEO, Gayle Packer said in the release. “Harbor’s commitment to their clients and employees is a strong cultural fit with our existing business operations in Arkansas and I’m excited for our future together.”

Terracon is an employee-owned firm with more than 175 locations nationwide. The firm ranked No. 5 in Top Area Engineering Firms as part of The Power Book 2024 edition powered by Ingram’s. Terracon made $1.02 billion in revenue in 2022.
