A survey from Wolters Kluwer Health found the leading reason Americans are wary of trusting Generative AI for healthcare purposes is the lack of sourcing of information.
The survey, released Dec. 12, shows 86 percent of Americans are concerned about not knowing where the information is coming from, however, 81 percent said they would be more comfortable with the use of AI if they knew it was used by a healthcare company with a good track record.
The number of concerned Americans begins to dissipate as the trust in their healthcare provider goes up.
The start of the survey showed about four out of five people were cautious of Generative AI in hospital care. When asked if they would be more comfortable with the AI being used by a long-time healthcare source and consistently updated, concerns dropped to around three out of five people.
