Lee’s Summit-based real estate developer Sallee Development announced it had broken ground on its 364-unit townhome project in Platte County.
Barry West is a build-for-rent community consisting of 364 units, including 2-story and ranch-style townhomes, located at 11500 NW Barry Rd.
The development is a $95 million investment, in partnership with North American Savings Bank, that addresses the demand for high-quality rental housing in the area, according to a release.
“Barry West represents our commitment to building thriving communities that enhance the quality of life for Kansas City residents,” Tyler Sallee, CEO of Sallee Development, said in the release. “This project not only addresses the growing need for rental housing but also contributes to the economic growth of Platte County.”
The community will offer rentals for 2- or 3-bedroom townhomes featuring private pools, 6 acres of open space, a soccer field, a playground and maintenance-free lawn care.
The first phase of townhomes is expected to be available for lease by March 2025, according to the release.
