Saint Luke’s Health System onboards Dr. Carlos Bagley and Dr. Sara Hocker to serve as co-directors of the Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute, the health care system announced.

Bagley recently served as a professor of Neurological Surgery and Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern School of Medicine in Dallas, Texas. In addition, Bagley served as president of the Texas Association of Neurological Surgeons. He completed his undergraduate education in biological sciences at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and received his Doctor of Medicine from Duke University School of Medicine.

Hocker received her undergraduate from the University of Kansas and completed a fellowship in neurocritical care at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Prior to joining Saint Luke’s in April 2023, Hocker served as a professor of neurology, chair of the division of neurocritical care and hospital neurology, and hospital practice chair at Mayo Clinic.

Saint Luke’s Neuroscience Institute also expanded its neuroscience team, including the addition of Megan Baumgardner, DO, memory disorder specialist; Yifei Duan, MD, cerebrovascular surgeon; Samuel Goldlust, MD, neuro-oncologist; and Kristopher Southard, MD, and Nathan Lightfoot, DO, both vascular neurologists, according to a release by the health system.
