Restaurant Industry Wants More Time for PPP Loans

Leaders in the restaurant industry want more time to spend PPP loans, increasing that window from eight to 24 weeks.

They met with President Donald Trump and said that they were concerned about various social distancing rules in states and other locales that don’t allow for the usual customer and employee interaction that is needed in their establishments.

The National Restaurant Association says that three decades of jobs in the industry were lost during the last two months and three percent of restaurants have permanently closed.
