As the housing market continues to challenge those looking for a comfortable place to live, Kansas City is becoming more popular for individuals looking to rent, according to a report from RentCafe.com.
The site released its Rental Activity Report last week which shows Kansas City ranked No. 2 in top cities for rentals. Kansas City, Mo., was the second-most sought-after city by renters in 2023, according to the report.
Based on RentCafe’s data, the cost of living in Kansas City is 6 percent lower than the national average.
While Kansas City is a thriving location for people interested in renting, it is not the only bi-state area to make the list. Coming in the No. 10 spot is Overland Park, Ks. due to the city’s prime location inside the KC Metro and the number of available listings lowered by 1 percent in 2023 compared to 2022.
Additionally, both cities were listed as the most popular cities for renters based on most searches on RentCafe.com in the past year, with Kansas City, Mo. at No.1 and Overland Park, Ks. at No. 4.
