The far-reaching impact of COVID-19 has affected nearly every U.S. household and every age, for many young adults, shifting their employment and living situation.

Often referred to as Gen Z, a surge of young U.S. adults age 18-25 are now living with a parent or guardian, around 61.2 percent, according to Zillow.
A spike in this number first appeared in the spring, around the onset of COVID-19.
Data from Zillow shows a largest portion of women moved home rose faster than men in the spring, though this differences has since evened out.
Although this number has dropped since the spring, the rate of Gen Z young adults living at home remains high matched against August 2019 numbers.
In August 2019, the number of 18-to-25-year-olds living with parents, grandparents, or a guardian was 54.4 percent, reports Zillow. In July 2020, that number was 62.8 percent and in August 2020, 61.2 percent.
