Overland Park-based Propio Language Services announced it has acquired three companies to advance its language services.

Propio acquired Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas-based Akorbi; Kissimmee, Florida-based ASL Services, Inc. and Minneapolis, Minnesota-based United Language Group (ULG), the company announced in a release Tuesday.

Established in 2003, Akorbi offers enterprise-level language solutions, including localization, interpretation, and multilingual business process outsourcing in over 170 languages.

Founded in 1989, ASL Services, Inc. provides companies with professional and ethical sign language services such as interpretation, video relay services and video remote interpreting. The addition allows Propio to offer improved services for the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.

United Language Group is a translation, localization and interpreting provider offering services in over 125 languages in a network of more than 5,000 professional legal translators. ULG has several office locations worldwide including American offices in Minneapolis, Portland and San Antonio. The company also has two European locations in Galway and Barcelona as well as two Asia locations in Mumbai and Hong Kong.

“As the world continues to become more connected, business more global, and the future of technology limited only by a lack of imagination, we have been working diligently for the past two decades to establish Propio as a premier language solutions partner,” Marco Assis, CEO of Propio, said in the release.
