Populous Announces Merger with London-Based Designer Jump Studios

Kansas City-based Populous announced this morning that it would bolster its foreign operations by merging with Jump Studios, a architecture and interior design practice based in London.

Both organizations will continue to operate as separate practices, Populous said in a news release announcing the strategic move to join forces to offer a broader spectrum of creative disciplines.

“We have long admired Jump Studios’ work and believe this is a strategic opportunity for both companies, and more importantly, for our clients,” said Nick Reynolds, senior principal at Populous.  “Bringing people together in the 21st century requires greater imagination and innovation than ever before. It demands creative and exciting solutions that will enhance people’s lives. With a shared ethos and collaborative processes, together Populous and Jump Studios will create great places and experiences for a wide range of clients.”

Populous, which already had an office in London, is a global designer of sports stadiums and large public venues,  including Wembley, Yankee Stadium, the 2012 London Olympic stadiums, Philippine Arena, Darling Harbour Live and the O2 Arena in London.

Jump Studios is an award-winning designer of high-concept interiors, installations and architectural design, with clients that include Google, Nike, Levi Strauss,  Yahoo!, Saatchi & Saatchi, and the firm was Building Design’s Interior Architect of the Year in 2013.
