Kansas City-based private investment firm Platform Ventures announced it has acquired a local electrical infrastructure company.
Platform acquired Staco Electric Construction Company in a move that marks the firm’s initial acquisition in the specialty construction services sector, according to a release.
Platform’s acquisition furthers its commitment to meet the demands of specialty contractors that support large-scale investments in data centers, clean energy, manufacturing, connectivity technologies, and the ongoing maintenance and modernization of aging infrastructure. Platform manages approximately $3.6 billion in assets across institutional, family office, and high-net-worth investors.
“Staco has an impressive management team and a strong track record, and from the start it was clear that our cultures were a great fit,” Co-Founder and Co-President of Platform, Ryan Anderson, said in the release. “We’re excited to partner with them to support the next stage of their growth.”
Founded in 1971, Staco specializes in pre-construction design, installation, maintenance, upgrades, and ongoing support for complex electrical systems and technologies. The company has a workforce of over 250 electricians that serves markets in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Iowa.
“The last ten years have been a great period of growth for Staco’s business and team,” Staco managing partner Jeff Linscott said in the release. “Not long ago, we started a process to find a new owner that could continue this growth and expand our opportunities with our existing clients. I am excited to have Platform as the new owner of Staco, as Platform’s values and vision are aligned with Staco’s, which should benefit our clients greatly.”
Stephens Inc. served as the exclusive financial advisor to Platform.
