Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has cut $209 million from the state’s budget due to concerns revenue challenges posed by COVID-19.
The cuts included $123 million from K-12 public schools, which will mean a decrease of 40 percent in state funding for those institutions.
There will also be $34 million cut from four-year public colleges and $6.8 million from community colleges.
So far, Parson has cut $428 million from the state budget.
“This is truly unlike anything we have ever experienced,” he said, as reported by KCTV5.
