Park University Fills CFO Role, Promotes Scott Fergerson

Park University announced it has promoted Scott Fergerson to the role of chief financial officer.

Park University named Fergerson CFO of the institution, effective Feb. 2., according to a release.

As CFO, Fergerson now leads the financial operations of the University and is responsible for maintaining financial stability, driving growth initiatives and ensuring Park’s financial operations comply with all relevant regulations and standards.

Fergerson, a resident of Parkville, became interim CFO in December 2024 after serving the University as chief business officer since July 2022. He first joined Park University in November 2016 when he joined as controller and was promoted to controller and associate vice president of finance in July 2021.

Before joining Park, spent time in public accounting as an auditor at RSM US LLP and BKD LLP focusing on manufacturing, distribution and financial service companies, according to the release.

Fergerson earned a Master of Science degree in accounting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Bachelor of Arts degree in international business from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo.

Additionally in the release, the university also appointed John Huber as director of corporate development and admissions within the Office of Enrollment Management, effective Jan. 27.
