Park University Announces $250,000 Research and Scholarship Fund

Park University is formally announcing the result of a $250,000 from the family of the late Michie P. Slaughter, former executive vice president of human resources at Marion Laboratories. The gift was made in 2014, upon his passing.

The Michie P. Slaughter Fund for Ethical Human Resources Leadership will provide scholarships and research funding for Park’s undergraduate degree program in human resource management.

Slaughter first became interested in Park University and its mission—accessible education and connection to the U.S. military—in 2012, when he participated as a speaker in the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series at the university’s School of Business.
