Overland Park office project plans revised, proposal altered for apartment and retail space

Metcalf 108 Redevelopment Investors LLC has delivered up a new proposal to the City of Overland Park. What was originally a project proposal for office space has turned into a proposal for apartments and retail. The change comes after developers faced difficulty securing tenants.

Plans for an Overland Park development have been switched around, turning what was once a proposal for office space into plans to develop a mixed-use property.

A new proposal from Metcalf 108 Redevelopment Investors LLC shows a major revision of the previously-proposed 150,000-square-foot office project. Plans instead involve the construction of predominantly apartment and retail space across 235,000-square-feet.

Recently submitted in January, the revision includes 220 apartments, divided into 177 one- and 43 two-bedroom units, plus a 259-space garage.

Despite the change, the project will still include office space. Two of the building’s six stories would house 9,934 square feet of offices, with 1,773 square feet of retail also included.
